The hip joint has a hard life, it’s subjected to huge forces and is prone to injury and arthritis; we all know someone who has had a hip replacement. In 2015 over 100,000 hip replacement operations were performed in the UK.
Not all hip pain is a result of arthritis though and we see many patients whose pain is a result of functional problems of the hip, as well as the low back and pelvis.
