Carpal tunnel syndrome affects a considerable percentage of the population. Although it affects mostly women, it is also common in men, particularly those who do manual work. If the condition is allowed to progress it can necessitate injections into the wrist and ultimately surgery to relieve pressure on the nerve that becomes compressed, the Median nerve.
